How do you pronounce your company name and what does it mean?
We pronounce Quiescence: Key-Essence. Formally it means "a quiet restfulness".
The "Key" is that the "Essence" of our designs harmonize nature and décor in a quiet restful way.

What’s the difference between your iron and everyone else’s?
Lots! Our iron is hand forged. It is not created by molds or spot welding hollow tubes like most iron products available from other manufacturers. Hand forging is a process using hammer, anvil and furnace to create objects from iron. Each piece begins as a straight piece of iron which is heated in a furnace then hand hammered over an anvil repeatedly until our unique signature looks are realized. Most stands that cradle unique boulder basins are forged to fit a specific boulder! The craftsmanship and careful attention to detail is unmatched in the market today.

Do you sell your iron-works separately?
Yes! Our accessories compliment many rooms beyond the bathroom. Mirrors, shelves and towel rings are great additions to kitchens, foyers, sitting rooms and beyond!

Will I need a special drain for your stone basins?
Our stone basins do not have overflows; therefore any drain without an overflow opening will suffice. Typically grid style drains are a popular option for our pedestals.

Can your iron pedestals fit other manufacturer sinks?
Of course we prefer to sell our sink pedestals with our own basins but we understand there are many sink options on the market today. Most standard round basins (copper, glass, bronze, etc…) will fit our pedestals. Just call us and we can discuss. In some cases it is necessary to send us your sink so we can forge and ensure a perfect fit. Note: There is a surcharge for this service.

Do you offer multiple finishes?
Yes! Most iron today from other manufacturers is available only in black. We offer 9 hand-painted finishes. Our most popular finish is our Oil Rubbed Bronze. Each finish is a 1-5 step process of high-lighting and low-lighting and is completed by a coat of polyurethane to lock in the finish and ensure longevity.

Do you take iron and stone special requests?
Yes! While we prefer to sell our stocked cataloged items, we can with your drawings quickly determine feasibility, cost & timeline for your design. Often the quickest and most cost effective special order is simply modifying our existing materials and designs; however your unique piece is also an option. We have created wine racks, side / console tables and much more in small or large quantities! Just give us a call and we can discuss!
